abettyc 3 Posted April 29, 2017 Has anyone had pain from drain tube site post sleeve ? My other incisions are not sore but the drain tube site burns if I try to stand up straight .....anyone having similar problems ? My sleeve was done on 4/25I do not have a drain tube however I do have pain in just one incision area. It's bigger than all the others. It's almost impossible for me to stand straight because it tugs and causes a burning/pulling pain. I guess it's pretty normal from what I have read. Since I have been walking slouched over my back is bothering me too! [emoji30] hope the soreness passes for you soon! 1 360lyMe reacted to this
klea0215 8 Posted April 29, 2017 Yes my back is killing me !! My drain tube comes out Wednesday and I'm hoping that takes the majority of my pain away
gryffen 176 Posted April 29, 2017 Yeah I was sleeved 18/4 and tube came out next day. That was the majority of pain I felt, from the pipe irritating inside, once it was pulled out it was gone.Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 hermione53 reacted to this
klea0215 8 Posted April 29, 2017 So should I expect after drain tube is removed the pain should subside
gryffen 176 Posted April 29, 2017 I can't speak for yourself as each person is different but when my nurse pulled it out I was just told to exhale hard to help it out. Took 5 seconds for the meter long tube to come out.My pain was discomfort at its worst but LOTS of gas moved so probably may help some Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Judymo reacted to this

The drain tube site is not stitched close like the other incisions so its healing from an open wound. It'll feel better in a day or two.
Judymo 33 Posted April 29, 2017 I have a drain tube from my GS surgery 3 days ago. Most of my pain is coming from that site. It doesn't come out until this Friday...patiently waiting lol.

gryffen 176 Posted April 29, 2017 My drain site was stitched shut to keep the drain in and it was easily picked out and then yanked out for instant relief. No issues since as its solidly sealed up again.Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Judymo reacted to this
Specky 0 Posted April 29, 2017 I was sleeved the same day. My drain was pulled on Wednesday before I discharged. It was uncomfortable to have it pulled. I find that I'm hurting the most when I bend over. I am also riding the struggle bus to be satisfied liquid wise. Any suggestions?
klea0215 8 Posted April 30, 2017 I'm curious why some have drain tubes and some don't and the length they have it is different
Kiwi_N_Rio 36 Posted April 30, 2017 I had my sleeve on 4/24, no drain tube though. My pain comes from the bigger indented incision. It hurts when sitting up straight, bending over, trying to get up and down. I can't wait for this to heal. I have an indentation where my biggest incision is and that's the one that hurts too! I had my sleeve same day as you.
