No appetite and having a hard time getting the required liquid in. I suppose to get in 64oz and takes me a full 24hrs to just barely get that in. Anyone else experiencing this?

I am also 4 days post op and I agree. there is no way to get that Fluid down the first few days. my doc says it'll be a bit but it's important to do as much as you can

I'm 2 Days post op. I'm using 12oz bottles. I try to sip all day, even if I wake up at 2am I take a sip. I'm getting close to 50oz, but I tell you it's hard to hold that much liquid so I'm using the restroom all day.

Treat your new stomach like a baby... I used the medicine cups 30 cc to start off with... their is no way you will get 64 oz and 60-80 grams Protein in that 1st week post op... I was lucky to get 20 oz that first day... you have to build up to it... gas strips , nexium and walking were my BFF... I didn't worry about Protein Shakes until day 3... just watch the dehydration...the for reading.

I was on Clear Liquids the first week. Protein didn't figure in at all (I think that was helpful because I could just concentrate on the drinking without the full-factor). Warm tea, G2, a little apple juice (was too sweet!), Water, propel, etc, etc. I got my goal in 4 days postop. I might as well have attached the bottle to my hand!

It's imperative that you get your liquids in. I'm 3 weeks post-op and at week 2 I nearly passed out due to dehydration. My temp dropped to 95.8...I felt like I was dying. Not a good feeling. Like my doctor told me, all liquids count. So your protein shakes, tea, Water, etc. all count towards your goal for the day. Everyone guidelines are different but my doctor told me 49-64 ounces of liquid was the goal. Good luck. It gets easier.

Day 1 post op for us is 30ml an hour for 4hrs and repeat til day 2 which goes up to 60ml an hour then 100 on day 3.

Day 4 is when milk, Lucozade sport, tea coffee etc comes into and day 7 is soft purees.

Liquids are important, just do what you can, you know when your full etc

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
