judyfay62 0 Posted October 4, 2007 I was told that I needed 70 to 80 grams of Protein, daily, after banding. I started stocking up on different kinds & flavors. Then, people told me "not to buy too much, because I would be able to get it from my food." There is NO way I can get that much protein in a day. I would have to eat nothing but meat, Beans, & cottage cheese. I have a hard time getting any kind of fish or meat down. (It seems to hang. ) If It wasn't for whey Protein Shakes & Protein Bars, I would never come close to getting the protein in. How about the rest of you??? Can you get your protein from your food alone?? just wondering
WASaBubbleButt 41 Posted October 5, 2007 Nope, I rarely get it all from food but I don't really care because I enjoy the Protein Shakes. It took some time to find the better brands but now that I've found them it's fast and easy.

TracyinKS 7 Posted October 5, 2007 I've been eating WC oatmeal (10g) w/milk (8g) but no..... I'm not eating the volume of food it would take to give me it strictly from regular food....... I've been supplementing with the protien bullets 27g
jfran 0 Posted October 5, 2007 I only drank Protein Shakes for the first month. i easily get 60-80g a day in regular food, but I eat 5-6 small meals a day and I eat Protein in every meal (at least 10-15grams). I also try to drink milk to supplement.
GayleTX 1 Posted October 5, 2007 Guess some people do, but not me. I get about half of mine from food (my goal is 100 grams/day). Maybe I could force it down, but why??? I love my Protein shakes/latte's....they are good and taste like a dessert/treat to me....so why force down tuna every day when I have something else that makes me happier and just as healthy. Protein is protein, after all, regardless of the source.
