HAHAHA! I KNOW THIS IS A DUMB QUESTION, BUT I'M CURIOUS. DO YOU START LOSING YOU BUTT BECAUSE YOU LOSE SO MUCH WEIGHT? I'VE SEEN SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME PROCEDURE AND THEY ARE LOSING LOTS AND LOTS OF WEIGHT, BUT I NOTICED THEY ARE LOSING THEIR CURVES AS WELL.

It's a case-by-case basis on this one. Each body is different and there is no way to determine how it will work for you. :/ Personally? I've kept my T n A pretty spectacularly. Now that I'm down to the last 40 or so I'm worried by boobs and butt are gonna go. lol! But I've been getting some major compliments on my ass recently so I couldn't be more thrilled. loL!!!

So far I'm losing fairly evenly all around.

It all depends on the individual.

Uuugh this was my worry too! My muffin top is still there...but my thighs and hips are melting off!!! I'm praying that with enough squats and cardio I'll lose this muffin top and build some booty!! Lol then again I'm only 4 months post op my friend says I still has long ways to go so hopefully the fat will start coming off my mid half! Good luck [emoji5]

I never had a butt to begin with. But it's much worse now. This tail bone pain is serious. Lost my boobs fast and its only gotten worse. But genetics didn't dictate a the best snap back lol.

I've lost all over but I have an hourglass shape. Everything is the same just smaller, except my boobs which seems 10 times larger.

MY RNY friend that keep using as an example of everything not to do...

She said she didn't want to lose her curves, but that is like the dumbest idea ever. Smaller women still have curves.

I have enough boobs for 3 women. I still have hips and a butt but I am 1/2 my size.

If you really have a shape, you will still have a shape. If you won't you can make one in the gym or the surgeons office.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
