Low blood sugars? Non diabetic

Recommended Posts

So yesterday at work I had a yogurt around nine or ten, The triple zero Kind and got busy working on a project. I noticed while talking to my friend and I messed up her boyfriends name three times in a conversation and I was just very scatterbrained. I was reloading binders and my hands are shaky so I got a Protein Water and drank almost all of it and kept working. Around 2 o'clock I realized I was really hungry and so I drink a Protein Drink mixed in one cup skim milk. I still felt really awful and try to work while drinking it but kept making mistakes. I decided that my sugar might be low so I drove to Walmart and bought a BG meter and got back to the office and my glucose was 78. Around 438 a no sugar added applesauce andwent to an appointment. Got home at 7:30 took my BG and it was 61. This morning I woke up and felt fine and had a yogurt applesauce and a I so pure throughout the dayand when I got homecheck my sugar and it was 80. Around nine well I was making egg whites I checked my sugar again because I had a headache and it was 60. Should I be concerned or just need to eat more often? Where should my numbers be after I eat and how often should I test. Thursday I will be five weeks out and down about 25 pounds I have not lost anything this week

Ideally this early out you will be eating every 2.5 to 3 hours. Low blood sugar is technically below 60, so you are borderline. Since you are getting the hang of how you feel when you need to eat, you are doing the right things! To be safe, keep a carton of juice or glucose tabs handy all the time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
