I wasn't allowed to be fully submerged for 12 weeks but I had a lot done.

I was cleared for swimming at 3 weeks, incisions were healed.

Given the ambiguity of this I'd get seen and cleared first before going.

Yes that's the plan I am just curious what most people's experiences were so I might have a time frame.

I see my surgeon Thursday for my follow up.

I started at 4 weeks post op. I was pretty much entirely healed by then, just a couple little scraps of scabs left.

At my 1 month visit my dr said it was ok to swim...if ur wearing a bikini tho make sure to put at least an spf 50 sunscreen on the wounds so they dont get darker..if that happens it would be harder for them to disappear...

Rule of thumb is scars have healed and if needed a waterproof dressing can be added to keep it clean. I'm only 10 days post op but will be cleared by 4 weeks for bath and pool use.

My surgeon cleared me for swimming yesterday but going to wait a bit more before I do to be on the safe side. Though he says my scars are healing really fast and beautifully

Does anyone know when we can go swimming? I love to be in the Water and am missing it pretty bad. Just about 3 weeks since surgery.

My surgeon cleared me after 2 weeks. I'm guessing every doc is different though. I had the sleeve , not sure if you had the same.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
