Sleeved in March 2017. Doing well --lost 34 lbs so far and now on soft foods. Trying to keep bites small and slowwwwing down when eating. So hard for me to get my Water in....I try and try and get about 48 oz in before I just cannot drink anymore. I know pure Water is the best but at night, I just like a cup of hot tea. Relaxing. Tips for water??

I was sleeved March 23,17. I am worried that I get to much water in daily. I'm about to drink around 96 Oz of water with the help of MIO water enhancers. Try adding MIO to your water.

I was sleeved in March too! Down just about twenty pounds since my surgery.

A hot cup of tea totally counts as a fluid! So does a glass of milk, or a Protein Water, or an iced herbal tea! Give yourself a break and expand your definition of Fluid LOL! As long as you're not guzzling frappucinos or big gulp slushies, count it! I really like iced herbal tea and fruit infusions. Helps add a little bit of flavour to my Water. But I do like plain ice cold water, too.

If I limited myself to just pure water though, I'd definitely be struggling lol!

My main struggle is I'm a gulper. I would drink lots of water pre-surgery, but not throughout the day, more like whole bottles at a time! Now I can't do that it's harder to get it all in. Or I forget I'm post surgery like an idiot and chug water and get that terrible forboding pain of doom reminding me I am no longer a person with a normal sized stomach capable of chugging a litre of water in the span of ten minutes LOL.

Remember that Fluid leaves your stomach in around 5 minutes so you can have a few small mouthfuls of fluid every couple of minutes. It takes me about 20 mins to drink a cup of tea and I feel fine. If you are a gulper try using a straw, even for Hot Drinks, it really helps to slow you down. Don't forget to drink no less than half an hour before or after eating. If you drink too close to eating the fluid kind of dilutes the food in your stomach and causes it to leave the stomach too soon meaning you will not stay satisfied for as long as you should and your stomach won't have enough time to break it down for proper nutrient absorption. Good luck☕️🥛🥃

oh I know to sip throughout the day... in theory. in practice it is harder to remember. I have been working on it by bringing a water bottle with me wherever I go and I also bought an ULLA hydration reminder to go on it so it blinks if I haven't picked up the bottle in awhile. Not perfect, but better than nothing!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
