kristamae24 5 Posted April 25, 2017 Hello. I have attached files. I am 12 days post op and having some issues with my incision. It has been draining some which the doc said was normal. Well now there is like tissue inside of it. And it pops out of the incision. It's not pus, it's attached. Has anyone experienced this ?

MarinaGirl 609 Posted April 26, 2017 I agree, doesn't look right. I had surgery 15 days ago and my incisions are all closed and healing fine. Good luck!
Walter.Sobchak 978 Posted April 26, 2017 Yikes, that looks totally infected. Hope they get you fixed up real quick.
jleiber 2 Posted April 26, 2017 I had that and did just fine. It wasnt infection but I did have them look at it. I had to rinse it with 50/50 Water and hydrogen peroxide twice a day. As long as I didnt have a fever, it was okay. Some people have trouble with incisions healing and I was one of them. No worries just get it looked at. Berry78 4,261 Posted April 26, 2017 It doesn't look infected. That tissue might be a piece of fat. They might want to put in another stitch or some tape to keep it closed. 2 Thecloude1 and kristamae24 reacted to this

blondie66 271 Posted April 26, 2017 Umm show your doctor
Berry78 4,261 Posted April 27, 2017 This isn't a panic emergency or anything. Even if they didn't do anything, it would just be a bigger scar. I've had cuts that show the fat underneath. It just means the cut is through all layers of skin. No biggie. And it might not be fat but healing goo instead (technical term ).
returntome 3 Posted April 30, 2017 Did you see the Doctor?? What did he/she say?? 1 Rita48 reacted to this
kristamae24 5 Posted April 30, 2017 I did !!! The doctor said it was not infected. I had some drainage that had created a pocket underneath the incision which was basically preventing it from healing like it should. You could actually feel the pocket of Fluid. So weird. He drained some of the fluid. And said to of course watch for any signs of infection. But it should begin to heal and it is i believe. It finally has scabbed over some. I am afraid to get it wet in the shower tho bc the scab might fall off. So I am not sure what to do about that part. It's always something I guess ! I attached the pic of how it looks now. 1 JaniceRNZ reacted to this
Berry78 4,261 Posted April 30, 2017 It looks much better! Just take quick showers and blot-dry it off well. It should be fine as long as it doesn't soak. 3 kristamae24, klingie84 and JaniceRNZ reacted to this
returntome 3 Posted May 1, 2017 It does look so much better! Maybe just bed baths and dry Shampoo until you feel more comfortable getting into the shower!! I am glad it is healing!! 1 kristamae24 reacted to this
