Can anyone tell me how they handled all the meds, I know for a few weeks I have to crush my pills, or capsules I have to empty into applesauce. Does anyone have any idea on how I should handle all these meds and what would be best to mix them with. Also I heard that omeprazol tastes horrible and I have to take that everyday.

Someone please help me I'm freaking out about all these meds and how to get them in on top of all the Vitamins.< /p>

I don't understand why when I post questions on here and no one answers any of the questions I am asking isn't that what these forums are for?

I used to take omeprazole for heart burn but I no longer have to take it. I never had to crush pills of take capsules apart. Sorry but I can't help.

I would recommend asking your primary.

I take meds for bipolar also. I had gastric bypass. I only had to crush or open capsules for a week. Be warned they taste nasty no matter what you add them too. The omeprazole doesn't have a taste, it's little beads. I actually had to be switched from the Latuda because it's to be taken with a large meal and obviously those days are over for us. If you wanna chat about it just PM me

My surgeon has not mentioned that I will need to crush pills, then again I haven't asked.
I take meds for depression and OCD and high blood pressure.
Ask your surgeon as to what you are supposed to do.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
