painish 9 Posted April 24, 2017 A doctor that will treat you post op? My pcp wants to drop me if I go through with the surgery.. what did you do? Anyone else have this problem?
sc101071 398 Posted April 24, 2017 You might want to check with your bariatric group.
soccermom2 27 Posted April 24, 2017 What is their reasoning for dropping you? I don't see how the surgery has any effect on them. Shouldn't your pcp be supportive of you trying to better your health?I would switch doctors. This is 2017. Medical Tourism is something a lot of people do every year now. As long as you've found a reputable surgeon your pcp should be understanding and supportive. 1 GBLady41 reacted to this
painish 9 Posted April 24, 2017 Cause I am doing a surgery In mexico is high risk.. did anyone else have this issue? Or know of a doctor this will in the ft worth area?
Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted April 24, 2017 I'd start by reporting your PCP to the state medical board. I don't believe that having surgery somewhere else is grounds for a doctor to terminate the doctor patient relationship. I'd start looking for a new doc right now. So sorry your doc is being an idiot. Best of luck with your surgery. 2 OutsideMatchInside and GBLady41 reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted April 24, 2017 Report your Dr. Report them to the state and your insurance company, after you get all your pre-op test done Find a new one. Honestly just wait and find a new one once you get back after the surgery. Look for a young Dr that is not American. I found a new Dr, young, not American by birth. Far less prejudiced about WLS and other things in general. 2 GBLady41 and Smores reacted to this

Berry78 4,261 Posted April 25, 2017 My doc didn't approve, so I found another. Best thing that could have happened because my new doc is sooo much better! This happened once before. I became pregnant for another couple. The OB doctor didn't approve. Found a new doctor that was so supportive and I received much better care. Try to find a new doc before getting the surgery so you can get care when you get back if needed. (I did and was glad since I needed to be seen within days of coming home). Good luck! 1 GBLady41 reacted to this
Raheema 24 Posted April 25, 2017 I really don't want any person I've reported to continue to work on my behave. You must take a lot of perscription meds and your doc is loosing his kick back! Switch the doctor! if he was good for you we wouldn't have a weight issue now
