plakbusta 1 Posted April 23, 2017 So I am 14 mos post-op RNY and I have a very large ventral hernia that desperately needs to be repaired. My surgeon is strongly urging me to have a panniculectomy done when I have the hernia repair. I really have no desire to have the excess skin removed at this point, it doesn't bother me at all but my surgeon claims that that is the right thing to do. He said hernia repair may fail if I don't have the skin removed. Has anyone else been in this situation?
