Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

What I was told was that the Fashion Show is bariatric patients who have achieved their goal or substantial weight loss and the Mall stores, maybe Macy's since the show is outside there? - help dress the folks in stylish clothing and do their hair/makeup to really accent how nice they look now and that they have a slide show or a presenter, maybe Melissa Webb, the bariatric coordinator for Mt. Carmel, that tells the person's story of their weight loss, motivation, etc. I was told by a couple who attended last year it was very touching to see. So, I'll plan to head to Tuttle but if you all want to still have a group at Polaris I'm cool with that too.

Directions to Tuttle aren't that much harder than Polaris IMHO... I-270 West to the Tuttle Crossing Exit. You can see the mall on the left from the freeway. If they are coming from the South, like Cincinnati, they'd take the west leg of 270North and again, they'll see an exit for Tuttle Crossing. If they are taking I-71 like coming to Polaris, they just continue south on 71 until 270 and go West until you get to the Tuttle Crossing exit.

HI anyone intrested in getting a team together or just joining as individuals in the 2008 Columbus ohio athritis walk on May 3rd at

Highbanks park . The entry fee is $25 per person and it is a 1 mile or 3 mile walk I think I am up to the three mile walk myself. I thought this might be a fun event to do as a group and it is for a good cause if anyone wants to do it with me just let me know as I really don't want to do it by myself if will be much more fun with a bandster buddy.

Here is the website link 2008 Arthritis Walk - Columbus, OH - Home

I saw my PCP doc yesterday and she was thrilled with my 25 lb loss so far and asked lots of questions as I am her first patient to ever have lap band surgery. She even made herself a side note right while I was there to do more research on lap band to get more up to speed on the procedure.

Anyway, I asked if I could get off my Cholesterol medicine (Zocor) and she said YES!! she said let's take a baseline blood check today and then I'll see you in 3 months so we can see how you are doing.

NSV= non scale victory.

A bonus to losing weight that is unrelated to the numbers on the scale.

SpecialK,

You should be pleased! Good going!

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

      The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

        Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
