I know now the date of the Style Show will be on April 7th but don't know the time yet. Will update this post when I know more.

I was told it was very inspirational to see the Before and After photos and the mall stores apparently help dress the patients who are in the style show in some great clothes to accent their new healthy bodies.

I guess some of us could look at those who are thinner now and be envious or depressed but I look at it as examples of those who succeeded and it helps to give me confidence to succeed too.

I'm going to guess since we've not heard from Hippiegirl that her surgery went off as planned yesterday. Here's hoping that all went well and she'll re-join us quickly!

I am in Columbus and I am scheduled to have my procedure March 26th at Barix by Dr. Ramos. I just had my PAT today and I received a lot of information (great) the only thing I forgot to ask is what to bring with me the day of surgery. I do not want to bring a bunch of stuff I am not going to need. I also forgot to ask how long I will be off work afterwards. I put a call in for the work question but wanted to see if anyone out there can give me ideas of what was needed and not needed the day of surgery

Since I only have to stay overnight 1 night, I was bringing my pajamas (so I can get out of a yucky hospital gown), slippers, robe and not much else. Sending my street clothes home with family overnight and they'll bring them back the next day. I suppose a little bag of toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush. Not really going to worry about primping too much! LOL!

P.S. I'm leaving all jewelry, purse at home and just taking my insurance card and picture ID to the hospital in the a.m. to check in. Hope this helps.

If you are on a C-Pap you'll want to ask about bringing that with you. They had me bring mine, because it was already adjusted to the right level.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
