My number was 7.5 but my doctor doesn't want to treat it. My surgery is on Tuesday and im scared that he won't perform the surgery because I've gained some weight back due to recent thyroid issue.

I think it depends on the dr & how much weight u gained... I'd call the office & ask questions... I can imagine they would cancel u last min .. if u have surgery & lose weight I heard it can go down & sometimes get better ... my surgery dr wants me to try to get me my number back to a 3 -4
which 4 is normal according to my primary dr .. that is what my lab notes read. .. although last years test on 1/16 I was a 7 & she said no need for treatment.. I don't understand that .. that's just crazy ..u sound like what I went thru last year .. fast forward a year later ..now at 13 they wanna try to regulate it before I get approved.
Have to wait & see.
Good luck to u Tuesday.
Let me know how it goes ok .

My surgeon would not operate on me when my thyroid level was 6.98. He said it was to risky for me. Thyroid effects everything at a cellular level. Surgeon said he'd worry about organ failure. I was to high risk for surgery last Oct. My primary raised my thyroid medication. In November when it was tested again I was 3.8. My surgery was 2/9.

I take Levothroxine 137 MCG. I can't remember the dose I had before that.
My start weight was 243, I'm 5"3, 50 years old. My surgery weight 2/9/17 219lbs. Current weight is 189.2
Goal 230-240lbs.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
