I went to one of these meetings a few months ago and learned some new information. I also learned if I go again and they dont control some of the participants I probably wouldnt go again.

I went for a fill yesterday and they are having a psychologist as a guest speaker on head hunger and tv ad hunger. It is at the Ft. Worth Surgery center Monday at 6:30 if anyone is interested. I may try it again at least to hear this woman speak.

Oh and if anyone is coming and has some size 16's they no longer fit in please bring them! Goodwill is slim pickings!!!

The lady who does the fills has been known to be cranky on occasion. The more I am around her the more I think she just has a dry rigid personality a lot of the time and really doesnt mean anything by it. She has never made me cry or anything like that, she just gets straight to business!

Is that the nurse practioner? I have been meeting her for the last 5 visits but I have never seen her like that. By the way did any of you all have to go to Decatur for the surgery? If so how far is it from AIGB?

I dont think they do fills at AIGB but I could be wrong? Next door to AIGB in the same building is the surgery center where they do the fills. I had my surgery done in Decatur, it is an hour to an hour and a half from AIGB off 287. I liked the facility a lot and had them dope me up on morphine so on the ride home I was knocked out!

If I am approved I will have to go to Decatur also. Where you able to go in first thing and be home by the afternoon? I am just asking because I have a child.

The fills are done in the surgery center building now instead of the other office that was on the 2nd floor (at least that's how I understand it now).

I'm going in tomorrow to get a much needed fill, if I happen to get this individual and she gives me the 'tude i'll be sure to let the staff there know about it.

Went and got my fill today, the nurse practioner that I had was the same one who gave me my last fill in August, she was real nice and willing to answer my questions.. (if I remember right her name was Tameya or something like that) she gave me a 1.2 cc fill for a total of now 7cc in my VG 11 band.

Trueresults (fill center) is adjacent to the Surgery center of Richardson, the enterance is just to the right of the main entrance of the surgery center (for those who haven't been to get their fills yet)

The woman who gave me my fill is a physician's assistant. She is Vietnamese. She is a little cold, but I think that is her personality. I thought she just didn't like me... but now that I hear she is like that all the time, I won't take it personally!

Joaquin, what time you get in and out depends on what time they schedule you for surgery. I was the last person scheduled for surgery at 1:00pm in the afternoon. they were running late, so I didn't have my surgery until 6:30pm and I got home around 10:00pm (decatur is about an hour away from my house).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
