The staples used in sleeve I know will always be there. Once the scar tissue grows over it will leaking possibility be a lot less?

Does the stomach heal like when you get stitches on your outer skin?

I'm worried I eat something and it will open.

(Like in 5 years.)

I've done a lot of research on this and if anything your tummy may stretch and get bigger if you don't take care of it... not bust open or pop :-)

I just found a article that the scar tissue grows over. The staples are there for the first few weeks for this to happen.

There is just no point to go back in and take them out. Is this what you saw as well?

Staples will always be there. The risk of leak gets smaller and smaller over time. Nothing is impossible, but I doubt you can cause a leak by eating something. But, if you have a severe trauma to your stomach like an accident, that may lead to a leak.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
