I am about 10 weeks post Op and have lost about 35 pounds. The last week I have eaten some things I shouldn't and I feel like I am failing at this whole thing, not just because of what I ate but because I feel like I should be further along and I can't see the weight loss on myself. I'm driving myself crazy. Anyone else struggling? Thanks.

Hadn't had the surgery yet but keep your head up. Remember what you did this for keep your eyes on the prize.

Your weight loss sounds like it is right on track (assuming it is 35lbs post op).

It is always good to reflect on what is happening to find the right answer. The things you ate.. Think about whether you truly shouldn't, or whether you are too hard on yourself. If you went overboard, sort out the causes so you can do better next time.

It's all a process. You are learning skills for the rest of your life!

You may have hit a stall. Get back on your plan and keep working it. Check inches lost. Sometimes or bodies change even though the scale doesn't. Hang in there. Call or meet with your dietician if things dont change.

Thank you. That makes me feel so much better. It feels good to talk to those who understand.

Thank you. This is much harder than I thought. I have to keep pushing forward.

Tip #1: I took progress pictures of myself in the same outfit (sports bra and exercise pants - not my finest look) and in the same room (bathroom with a locked door). It was shocking to see the progress and really helped to remind me how far I've come. I still pull those photos out when I'm having one of those "I'm SO fat!" days. Tip #2: Track your calories (myfitnesspal.com works for me and its free) to hold yourself accountable. I have never restricted myself from the food that I want but I limit the quantity. I'm always surprised by just how much you can drink in calories alone - shakes are my weakness but a lot harder to justify if I take a second to look up the calories. And if I still want that double mocha shake with extra whip, then I adjust the rest of the day. Tip #3: Exercise. This helps with your mood, motivation and you can see the results quicker than dieting alone. I will always remember when I "found" muscles in my arms. So exciting!

Good luck and just remember that this is a journey not a race.
