I was sleeved on 4/11/17 and I feel like I didn't even have it done . I can still drink the same I'm not gulping but taking small sips hurt is that normal? I haven't eaten anything other than full liquids but I'm so hungry and don't get why , and I'm not getting all of my fluids in I can only get about half and never got dehydrated. I'm just nervous that something's wrong with me

Shelbymarie18: i was also just sleeved on the 11th. Im not necessarily hungry but I seem to have no problems drinking, eating a decent amount at one time, meaning yogurt or Jello.
I too wonder if this is all normal.

Huh. I had surgery Monday and can almost drink normally but no way on food. Four tablespoons of pudding and I'm done. It's so weird how much people differ. I'm having lots of head hunger but have had zero real hunger so I hope that means chemically things are working.

Just met with pre-op team today. They said that the swelling after surgery csuses the pain and restriction to liquids. Every one is different based on how our bodies respond to the trauma of surgery. I also heard that the 3-4 week point brings a change in the hunger

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
