Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've checked in. I hope everyone is doing well on their journeys. I'm afraid I'm not.. I'll be 6 months post op on 4/27. I've only lost 58lbs and have been stalled since early March. I tend to have very long stalls (like 4-6weeks!) then lose 3lbs then another long stall and so forth. I have a bell shaped sleeve instead of a regular/banana shaped one and I'm told maybe that's why I didn't lose my appetite and don't fill up as quickly... I've been killing myself in the gym almost daily and started walking/jogging my son to daycare (in his stroller) in the mornings to get active twice a day. I'm on MyFitnessPal and my boyfriend just got me a Fitbit last month. I get in 17k steps, 75-90 mins of active exercise, and burn 3k cals a day on most days...get about 60oz of Water. What on earth am I doing wrong?!

It's odd true... but they say the average is10 pounds a month. What's your MyFitnessPal name. Also it depends on your start weight and how overweight you are.

What are you eating?

From what some of the veterans have said on here, you should be getting around 1000-1200 calories a day. Are you getting that many? Especially with the exercise.

Also 100 grams of Protein, under 30 carbs a day and lots of liquids... at least that is what is helping me lose.

Good luck to you.

How many calories are you taking in per day? Carbs? Protein? With that much exercise, it is vital that you are taking in enough fuel.

I think I may be taking in too many carbs.. I'm getting between 40 and 50grams. I'm getting about 60-80 protein.. need to increase that. I find myself grazing a bit too much cause I'm always hungry.. lots of nuts and cheese.. cals usually between 800 and 1000

Watch those nuts. Sneeky buggers. I find they stick with me way to long and hinder weight loss. It is also very easy to eat more of them than you intend.

Watch the carbs!!! Those are the worst for me!!!! Good Luck!!! I've also been told that you're body can stall at weights we've previously been stuck at in the past and it just takes time for the body to finally let it go!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
