Definitely. I know I had questions during the process so we can definitely keep in touch!

What's his pre-op requirement?

Yes you have to get weighed and consulted about your diet and exercise. At the end of the 6 months your PCP has to write a letter for the insurance and submit his notes that shows the 6 months of weigh ins

Thanks for the explanation. I'm Lisa btw. Nice to meet you Patty. :)

Hi Patty,

Forgot to ask you, what kind of surgery are you having? I'm thinking of getting the Gastric Sleeve

Hi Lisa,
I'm getting the gastric sleeve. That was the best option for me.

Yes. Had my consult with Dr. Merola on 4/28/17. We're looking at late September early October surgery date.

It will go by fast. When I had my first appointment with him I thought 6 months would take forever but it went by faster than I thought! I started my 2 week liquid diet and while I'm hungry I know I have goal in sight so it makes it worth it.

I started my monthly weigh ins the week after I saw Dr. Merola so that helped not extend it a month :)

Have you tried any of the BariatricPal foods? I just purchased the shakes and Soup to try before my pre-op. What are some of the liquid diet things you are ingesting?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
