I have to ask -- why do you keep doing all of this to yourself? Your posts are really memorable. Pretty quick after your surgery, you were asking about eating chicken wings while you were watching the Super Bowl. When you were on vacation in New Orleans, you asked about alcohol. A week or so ago, you ate onion rings and they made you sick, and now you are eating too fast and eating bread.

I mean absolutely no judgment -- for instance, I'll have a drink or two occasionally now that I am this far along -- but it seems like you go into things knowing that they will produce an undesirable result or discomfort, but you do them anyway. And then you regret it later.

Just an observation. Definitely stay away from the bread, though. Nothing good can come from it.

Good luck!

I gotta go with what @blizair09 said. You need to focus on why you are repeating this behavior over and over again.

Thanks all I guess my food addiction is mental and I'm finding it hard to get over. But saying that I am doing better. I get stressed easily and am not mindful. I'm trying hard.

I have the same problem. I hate how I feel when I overeat, but I'm also thankful that my sleeve prevents me from eating anywhere near what I used to eat. If it is this hard to stop overeating when it hurts and nauseates me so much, then I know I would never have been able to lose weight (or even stop gaining!) without surgery. I really feel like I would have just eaten myself to death.

When I am feeling uncomfortable from overeating, I think about how short the side effects from overeating after WLS are, compared to being fat and out of shape and exhausted all.the.time

Good luck! I do agree with working on figuring out the psychological aspects of your food addiction.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
