Loosing weight very slow

Recommended Posts

Currently I have only lost 150lbs

However I did stop drinking my Protein and Vitamins ( I don't have any excuse for this behavior. My brother 10 years younger than me passed away unexpectedly. It took a toll on me in many ways. I didn't want to even live anymore. I pretty much was his mother growing up. So from March 15 till now I lost 15 lbs. totally didn't eat. Or when I tried to eat because I knew my body needed food I would just throw up. Now I feel I am not loosing weight like other ppl. I had my sleeve last October 202 starting weight and now 150. How can I boost my weight loss again?

Help!!!

You need to start getting your Protein again to lose weight. Close to 100 grams a day if you can, drink plenty of liquids. Low carbs.

Get back to eating healthy. Get back with the program. That should help you lose weight.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. I wish you the best.

Who cares? Everyone is different, please don't waste your time worrying about how much others have lost.

Now, let's look at your specific case. You had a very low starting weight (to put it in perspective many people on here list 200 pounds as their IDEAL weight), yet you still lost a quarter of that even. That is frickin' awesome!

Sooo, stop beating yourself up about it. Right now! Go back to the basics and see how that works for you. Most likely if you have been starving yourself for the past month (which I totally get due to your circumstances) you will probably put a little bit of weight back on at first, but if you stick to the plan you created for life after surgery, you should start to see results. That being said, unless you are like 4 feet tall, I don't think they will be all that dramatic as 150 is pretty low to begin with.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
