Layma 30 Posted April 20, 2017 Upon the doctors recommendation, I have been taking two 306mg ferrous gluconate pills twice a day and it's making me feel sick. I was told to take it three times a day but I can not handle being this nauseated in the middle of the day and while I am in public. It's the worst when I take it on an empty stomach but taking it with some food doesn't help either. Is anyone else experiencing this?? Is there anything that helps get rid of the nausea?? ojibway 203 Posted April 20, 2017 I understand what you are going thru. Iron makes me sick too, I've tried every Iron supplement, I using a chewable for the last week. so far so good, but usually during week two I start feeling bad. I might try the iron patch that is in the Bariatric Pal Store next. I really don't want to be infused again.

You can't take Iron and calcium together. It diminishes the absorption of both. I usually wait at least 1 hour but usually 2-3.
Maggiep 2 Posted August 19, 2020 Hello , I took Calcium in the morning and Iron at evening time . I ordered flavored iron soft chews from Bariatric Fusion and hopefully those would work . I think that I just can’t stand the strong smell and taste of iron . The trapezius pain was definitely a muscle strain and probably due to changing my sleeping position after surgery.
