Nikki_M 2 Posted April 19, 2017 Hey everyone! Surgery 4/27. Started the liquid diet last thursday. I feel okay, nights are the worse. I wanted to reach out because it seems like this liquid diet is quite lonely. Anyone else feeling that way?
sc09 95 Posted April 19, 2017 I felt that way too because I couldn't eat with the rest of the family. I sat outside while they cooked and ate or in my bedroom drinking my shake. It still feels that way and I had surgery on the 13th. They don't want to eat around me thinking it makes me uncomfortable or crave it. Honestly since surgery it's the last thing on my mind. I just worry about drinking Water and figuring out how to get enough Protein in. Also I'm planning my abdominal binder burning party. Lol 1 Nikki_M reacted to this
Ceej0505 2 Posted April 19, 2017 I normally keep connected to my friends during lunch or breakfsst meetings. I told them we have to meet at coffee shops where I can get Decaf and no sugar drinks. They are cool with that. Sometimes we meet to go shopping, to a bookstore, or at the gym. But like you, evenings are tough. Find something to distract you if possible. I've got one more week too. Nikki_M 2 Posted April 19, 2017 Hey all, thanks for the responses. I was definitely feeling the liquid diet blues last night and I went to bed with a grumbling tummy. I appreciate all the encouragement one day closer waking up this morning. 2 Ready4aNewStart and mustanglauri reacted to this

princessK23 9 Posted April 20, 2017 My surgery is 4/27 as well. This liquid diet is hard but I feel more nervous the closer it gets. I just finished my pre surgical screening. It's becoming real to me. I figure this diet has me thinking to much lol. 1 tataworld605 reacted to this

I pretty much stick to my wife who has been supportive of the lifestyle changes and surgery all along, and leave out those whose lifestyles are not conducive to this change. Surround yourself with those who are supportive is my advice. In the end, it's all up to the desire of the person trying to make these changes. Firefighter12Wife 28 Posted April 21, 2017 I have a surgery date of 4/27 also. My doc has me on 10 days of shakes, then 2 days of Clear Liquids right before surgery. I am on day six of the shakes, and I feel like I could eat a shoe!!!! I know the lonely feeling. I don't mind people eating in front of me. It's having to smell their food that is the worst! I know I am doing the right thing, and have worked so hard to get this far.....I just cannot wait to have my surgery next week. Had last round of bloodwork and chest xray today. Next stop....OPERATING ROOM! This week cannot go fast enough! Hope you are doing better =)
