Does anyone weigh and/or measure their food? I don't, I eat until I decide that it is probably enough, then stop. I have lost almost 91 pounds.

Interesting. To me it is strange to weigh/measure your food. Thanks for the response.

Depends on what it is. I tend to measure things like Cereal and milk until I can judge how much is a serving (3/4 cup, 1/2 cup, etc). I rarely measure meat as I pretty much can only eat 3 - 4 oz tops before I get full. I think it's good to measure once in a while to make sure you are staying within your Nutritionist's guidelines because I can definitely eat way more at 6 months than I could at 3 months. Don't want to stray too far off the norm.

If I don't measure my food I overeat and then I'm miserable. My head still thinks it is smarter than my stomach.

I did in the beginning, I'm now 18 months out and have a good feel for how much I need/am eating.

I'm a cheese freak so I bought a scale to measure my meats and cheeses. It is a habit I am still working on.

That's really how it should be, in my opinion. I have not bought a scale or anything. It's time to listen, really listen, to the body for me.

Over two years out and I still weigh everything. Either by weight or volume depending on type of food. I also log every bite and keep it in spreadsheet form. I can keep track of my weight trends compared to my macros that way.

For me, it is the only way to be accountable.

I've lost and kept off 140 pounds since April 8th, 2014. The only weigh (I didn't misspell this word lol) I could do this is/was by weighing my food. It's so very easy to go over 4 ounces because that's not much food to start with! I don't know how you had the same surgery I did and you aren't weighing your food.

I sometimes will weigh my food. I do it more when I am cooking my own meals or having home made food. I find that outside food, I eat until I feel that first pressure (10 small bites). Then I am done.

I weigh everything that goes into my mouth unless the packaging is less than my max and has the weight on it.

I gained this weight by not controlling what I eat, I'm using this time to build tools to sustain this in the long run.

I just eat and when I feel that I don't need anymore I stop. I have never felt full since the surgery.

Most of my weight gain was due to medical conditions/medication. Don't get me wrong, when I feel bored I still want to snack/graze but I now go for a walk and it seems to take away the boredom/hunger.

I weigh everything so that it's easier to track my Protein, carbs, calories, etc. I still listen to my stomach regardless.

Just because there's 2 oz. of meat on my plate doesn't mean that it's a guarantee that I'll eat all of it. Or if I think I can eat more, I will weigh out another ounce to make sure that I'm not going over the 3 oz. meat limit that my NUT has set for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
