jbaker5d 34 Posted April 18, 2017 I am feeling better everyday but I must say I'm a little worried as I read through some of these posts. I'm only on day 3, still clear liquid plus Protein Shakes. But I'm already tired of the liquids. Still I'm sticking to it for fear of what might happen if I don't. So will I ever be able to eat real food again and enjoy it? I know I'm several weeks away from most real food but from some of these posts it almost sounds impossible to enjoy eating again. 1 chavezmommy reacted to this
chavezmommy 146 Posted April 18, 2017 What you can eat long term is dependent on the individual. I am 1 year 4 months out from VSG. I can eat most things. I can't tolerate caffeinated coffee so I opt for Decaf and until recently could not tolerate salads. I still enjoy food but with quantity limits and these limits are what I'm most thankful for with the VSG. Liquid and healing stage is tough. I remember thinking "What have I done to myself??" Then I accepted my choice and said "Well it's done so now I make the best of it!" I had my ups and downs but it does get better slowly every day, every week and month. And as those lbs melt away that will keep you positive!
