GetSkinny 3 Posted April 17, 2017 My friend and I both had the sleeve on April 10th, I'm a non smoker and she's a smoker. She's not a heavy smoker but still a smoker, she did not quit smoking but cut back to 4 cigarettes a day and smoked until the night before surgery. Now she wants to go back to smoking and she's only a week out. I keep encouraging her not too but I'm afraid she might give in to her temptation. I don't know much about smoking and surgery, can someone tell me what can happen to her if she goes back to smoking only a week out?

Blater 17 Posted April 18, 2017 One word, ulcers! As a sleeved person you can't take NSAIDS, steriods or smoke. Basically avoid anything that can cause an ulcer. There's not much stomach tissue left and ulcers eat away at your stomach
