reignmystic 5 Posted April 16, 2017 So I'm on a 13 hr flight on the 30th of April and was wondering what to do about food - my husband was awesome enough to upgrade me to business class so I know I'll have a menu card with options (and they're GOOD options) but I'm still a bit wary. I'll be exactly 3 weeks that day, starting my 4th and I know it says that you can transition to soft texture foods or stay with pureed for another week. So far I've been doing fine, my doctor wants me to continue with the liquid diet this week just to make sure I'm doing ok (surgery was a week ago). So my fellow sleevers+travellers... any tips? Julie norton 2,850 Posted April 16, 2017 I would bring what I was told was ok by the dr. Nuts?. Jerky? protein powder, Protein Bars, yogurt, string cheese softened, maybe a banana?

I traveled to Asia in international first class at about 3 months post-op. I brought ParmCrisps, almonds, and Protein Powder in my carry-on, and I also brought along zip-loc bags of various sizes to keep some of the food to eat at a later time. The flight attendants looked at me like I was crazy, but it worked for me. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Pescador 1,374 Posted April 18, 2017 Three weeks out I don't think you should be eating nuts or Jerky. Personally I would carry a Protein Shake in my bag, a sugar free pudding or Jello, and a couple of the very small travel packs of Peanut Butter. I don't fly often, so if you need your doc to write a note about a dietary restriction so be it.
