Tarno3 19 Posted April 15, 2017 I have hit three weeks out on Thursday and all I do is sleep. Any days I get 9,000 steps plus I either need a long nap that day or sleep the next day way too much, miss my fluids and meals because I'm like coma sleeping. How long does the fatigue last? sherri~ 77 Posted April 15, 2017 I am not sure how it is for everyone but I still 6 months out could take a nap everyday. But for me the extreme tiredness went away at about 6 weeks. There were times I'd fall asleep with my Water cup in my hands. Sitting straight up.
reverseforward 14 Posted April 15, 2017 I don't remember being overly fatigued I had gastric bypass 2-6 back to work ful l-time 2-27. I slept and rested for the full 2 wks that was a gift I gave myself. So now I am 8wks out feeling good. Hang in there.
MaHaBone 18 Posted April 20, 2017 I had the same issues with fatigue, especially around the 3-5 week postop mark. Lethargic as hell, and what would normally be a 30 min nap slipped into 2-3 hour naps. I would say by about 8 weeks I was at a more stable energy level. I still have moments of sluggishness, but not quite so extreme and I can usually just bully through them. 2 Tarno3 and julie1978 reacted to this
nocturnalgemi 66 Posted April 22, 2017 I'm 4 weeks out and exhausted as hell. Just simple tasks like taking a shower wears me out. I sleep all the time. I can't wait to get my energy back because it's seriously keeping me from working out. Even a 10 minute walk around Target wears me out. clasheljac2 9 Posted April 22, 2017 I think that is fairly common.
Redmaxx 740 Posted April 25, 2017 I never had that issue, but for me to sleep during the day means that I am sick. Hopefully it will pass for you soon.

Please 188 Posted May 3, 2017 I was like that until 5 weeks post op. Went into a coma for 10 hours at night and an hour or 2 nap in the afternoon.
GrrlAnn 177 Posted May 3, 2017 Two thoughts:1. If you are still taking pain killers they can definitely impact your energy.2. Are you meeting your calorie goals? If you aren't eating enough you will be tired. It's not ok to eat less than you are prescribed. My nutritionist yelled at me when I went below my calorie count for a few days to "challenge myself". I won't do that again. Sent from my XT1585 using BariatricPal mobile app
