Amethyst Acinom 72 Posted April 14, 2017 I have heard after you get your new tummy that you don't need much to feel a buzz. I am curious what ha been your limit? What did you drink?I'm 6 weeks Post op and would love a glass of wine.Don't judge me please, we're all adults lolI've been very good with holding down food and getting liquids in. I've never had any issues.Thank you! 2 starfishwish and joeg reacted to this
EmmyJ 184 Posted April 15, 2017 My NUT just told me that she doesn't want me having any alcohol until 6 months out, so I don't have a good answer to your question yet
hermione53 157 Posted April 15, 2017 I'm four months post-op. At three months I had some wine. Felt like I got buzzed more quickly than in the past, but it wasn't a huge difference. I drank slowly and it was enjoyable.
Positivechange36 0 Posted April 16, 2017 Thanks for asking this, I was curious as well. I'm just shy of 4 weeks post op and I'm not ready to drink yet but was wondering.
BigViffer 3,544 Posted April 17, 2017 This is most definitely something you should ask your surgeon and not a bunch of strangers on the internet. There are very good reasons not to be drinking alcohol that have nothing to do with the calories. A blood thinning barbiturate is not the best thing for someone who just had surgery on their digestive system. A bleed or death is not unheard of because of alcohol consumption. After you hit 6 months or a year, you'll have the rest of your life to drink. Is it really worth it to have a drink now? 2 Sara4150 and agarth89 reacted to this
