I'm not too far postop, but I've noticed that the two periods I've had since surgery were miraculously on time. I have another one due in 8 days so I'm eager to see if it arrives on time.

I have had a period for every cycle since the surgery which was 11 months ago. I recently came back from a vacation in a third world country where I had no access to meat, Protein Shakes or a scale and I have lost 5 pounds instead of gaining which I was afraid was going to be the result of it. I am 5 pounds away from my goal weight.

Wow! That is awesome! Congratulations! I'm so excited. Right now I'm taking a medication to come on my period. I haven't had the surgery yet but I will this year. I'm still in the beginning phase of going to classes and seminars and all that good stuff!

Yeah had that happen too but I'm thankful I don't really have pcos symptoms apart form a beard!

Have discovered tho that if you have PCOS - don't get the Impanon nexplanon implant as it does weird with bleeding.

I also forgot to mention that prior to the surgery, I have gone without a period for over a year at times. I am in my 20s. Best decision, EVER.

Yeeesssss me tooooo! I've gone years without having it too. Scary thing. People always say "oh lucky you for not having a period" and I say lucky you for having one because it's abnormal not to have one and can cause many problems.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
