Hello,

I had my surgery a week ago yesterday (4/5//17) so I'm brand spanking new. I am not very hungry at all and the thought of having a Protein Shake makes me want to gag. My doctor said that he just wants me to get at least one Protein shake (30 grams of protein) and fluids if that's all I can do. Any other protein options you can recommend. I can only have liquids. Soup? I bought a fresh squeezed juice yesterday consisting of beets, carrots, apple and ginger. I need something wholesome. It was very soothing to me. Don't know if I am allowed to have that but I didn't want to have anything. Also, my daughter has Cobani Yogurt drink that has 14 grams of protein and I liked it. The tanginess more specifically. Except it's high in sugar. Any suggestions?

How soon after did you guys exercise? My doctor told me right away so on the third day, I gone on my spin bike for 15 minutes. Seems too soon though...

Anyway, I would love to get to know you and be part of this community. I feel like a preschooler. I know nothing. So I'm willing to learn.

Thank you!! :)

I am also newly sleeved (4/4). I have been doing a lot of smoothies that my nutritionist recommended. I seem to like the yogurt smoothies the best. The pre-mixed Protein Shakes I lived on during pre-op phase sound terrible to me now.

For smoothie:
Any container Greek 100 yogurt (sugar under 10)
1/2 c milk
1 scoop unflavored Protein powder
1/4 c dry milk
Half banana (or other fruit)

It takes me half the day to get it down, but it tastes good. There are a few others I can share if you're interested, or Pinterest seems to have a lot of good ideas as well.
Good Luck!

First of all, congratulations!! How are you doing and feeling? That sounds so good. I've craving greek yogurt. I bought so many different Protein powders and they all turn my stomach when I think about it. Yes!! I would love more recipes. Please?

I hope you update your profile so I can learn more about you!

I guess I didn't realize I could do anything with my profile, lol. I'm a newbie. I will take some pics of my recipes! I've also been dabbling with different concoctions. Mainly switching up the yogurt. Tonight I'm having Oikos triple 0 coconut cream with mocha Protein Powder and 2.5 strawberries. It's delightful!

I'm trying to post a couple pictures of the recipes, but it won't let me. [emoji849]

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
