I'm on the nexplanon implant, our programme requires all woman of childbearing age to be on contraception due to risk of pregnancy in first 18 months.

It's simple, effective and no hassle with needles every time your shot runs out. Lasts 3 years too.

Only thing is, I have pcos so can make periods go a bit weird if you still get them on any type of birth control but I haven't had a period in over a year (spotting yes).

Feel free to bump me if you have questions

I have been on Depo for years. Love it! Never have a period. I skipped my last injection since it was a week before surgery and I'm a week out and starting to spot. Is this normal? I plan on getting back on Depo ASAP.

I got a Mirena for a few reasons unrelated to surgery, but it turned out to be a even better idea once I found out I wouldn't be allowed to take the pill for a year after surgery. Implantation was... unpleasant... but it's been great since. I've spotted a tiny bit a couple times. If you decide to do a hormonal IUD, this is probably it. Ask your doctor about getting a cervical block during implementation.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
