txsrooster 45 Posted April 12, 2017 I just got back from my sleep study...Talk about failure. I tossed and turned so much the tech had to come in twice to reconnect me. I think I might have gotten an hour or so of sleep. I usually can sleep anywhere as I travel for work. The tech couldn't tell me anything but I have a feeling it will be "inconclusive" and rescheduled. Anyone else have trouble sleeping in the sleep study? What happened? ashleyamz 9 Posted April 13, 2017 I did too. The tech came in literally every hour or so to reconnect me at one point she's like I don't understand how you took the tape off your arm in your sleep [emoji23][emoji23] she didn't tell me anything either. When the results came tho it showed I stopped breathing 9 times every hour, which I guess is considered mild and even with all the tossing and turning there was no restless leg syndrome or anything like that. I wouldn't worry too much about it those machines are equipped to pick up everything I'm sure you will get some results even if it was only a little sleep. 1 Coach Chris reacted to this
becca15 24 Posted April 16, 2017 OMG! I had the worst time trying to sleep during my sleep study. I slept an hour and a half and they were able to get enough information
txsrooster 45 Posted April 16, 2017 Well I should know something this week..I hope they got enough information..The surgeon said if I have sleep apnea I would need to be on the CPAP for at least a month.
becca15 24 Posted April 16, 2017 fingers crossed for you!

starfishwish 129 Posted April 16, 2017 I had a hard time sleeping too. I didn't toss and turn, but I woke up constantly. My study did show moderate obstructive sleep apnea, and I've been using the CPAP since January
ced.seawood@gmail.com 0 Posted April 16, 2017 What happens if you only sleep 4 hours out of the minimum required 6 hours?
DMac 12 Posted April 17, 2017 I had to go back and re accomplish mine. Dr gave me a sleep aide. Severe apnea is 30 or more episodes per hour. I had 62 average episodes per hour. The CPAP is awesome. Best rest ever. I use to sleep 12 and 15 hours a day. Now 4 hours and I can be rested the whole day. And no more naps. Awesome machine. 2 lb2017 and mylighthouse reacted to this
Sweet as peaches 759 Posted April 17, 2017 I have sleep apnea and use the cpap machine since August 2015. It is comfortable once you get used to it. 2 mustanglauri and mylighthouse reacted to this
txsrooster 45 Posted April 19, 2017 I got the phone call yesterday from the sleep study place that my dr would like them to schedule a follow-up study with a cpap as they determined I have the Apnea. No details other than that. So I asked when the next available appointment was and they had a cancellation that day and so I hopped my big ol butt over there last night and slept with a CPAP machine. Felt a bit awkward at first but slept better than I did the last time I was there. Follow-up appt with the Dr tomorrow so hopefully we will be submitting to insurance for the surgery this week. Finger crossed. 1 mustanglauri reacted to this

txsrooster 45 Posted April 21, 2017 I guess I slept more than I thought. Should be submitting to insurance next week once they verify all ducks are in a row. I met with the surgeon and he suggested I set my goal weight lower to 170 which would be over 100 lbs lighter than I am now. Says I will gain back a few and that would put in the right weight. Not sure if I am more nervous that they will approve or or that they won't. 1 mustanglauri reacted to this
mylighthouse 782 Posted April 21, 2017 Glad you were able to get in enough hours for them to determine that you had sleep apnea. Believe me, a few months after using a CPAP machine and you will feel so much better during the day. It really does make a huge difference. Plus, you will have the peace of mind knowing that you aren't going to possibly die in your sleep because you stop breathing. I love my CPAP machine, for me, it only took about a week to get used to. Been using it for a year now. Good luck! 2 DMac and mustanglauri reacted to this
