I am wondering if there are any ways to speed up my weight loss? I had the Sleeve done on 2/7/17 and am 31lbs down and don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for Loss so far but I'm feeling like I should have lost more by now. I've been doing a workout in the mornings, getting my Protein, and my caloric intake is around 800 calories per day. Should I be eating more/less calories or upping my exercise? Any techniques that anyone knows of to help speed it up? I would appreciate any advise! Thank you!

Hello Shrinking Sleever,

I am right there with you, I had the surgery done on 2/6/17 and also feel that the weight loss should be faster. Currently I am losing on an average of 2lbs per week.

I was told to eat more Protein, and to incorporate at least one Protein Shake a day.

Yep...I sure would like the weight o come off fast:-(. I was sleeved on 2/6 and down 35 pounds. I went into a crazy 3 week stall that made me think I was some kind of anomaly:-). How can I lose 80 percent of my stomach and still not lose weight!?

I'm passed that now. Happy for the weight I've lost and thankful it is still heading in the right direction albeit slow.

Took me years to get this big. That's what I keep telling myself.

Good luck

I'm currently in the stall and I hate it I'm very frustrated with it. Mainly because I'm having a hard recovery. I'm on week 4 and while things are slowly getting better sometimes I feel like I'm back to week 1. The pain just doesn't seem to get better. Anyway so now I'm in pain all the time and not loosing weight. I know this will get better and I will start loosing again.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
