Superdtard 0 Posted October 3, 2007 :help: Ok, Im new to this group and I really hope someone out there can help me! I went 2 weeks ago to get a fill. I had to have 4/10ths removed awhile ago due to severe acid reflux, which then went away. This time, they only put half of what they took out back in, which was fine with me. Well, I did great the first week. The past 3-4 days, I have been awake almost all night with this severe coughing. Coughing so hard that I spit up phlegm, which I figured was aspirated into my lungs. Last night, I slept all night but woke up at 6am with the coughing. Should I just try liquids for a couple days (which I am HORRIBLE at complying too!) Or call my doctor?? Thanks soo much. Candle 11 Posted October 3, 2007 I don't know if we're allowed to post links here, so I sent it to you via PM. There was just a thread about this on OH.com
Victoriana 10 Posted October 4, 2007 I would call your Dr, and I think you could be right about starting back on liquids, as for me I really cant drink too much for about 2 hrs before bedtime. It happens occasionally, but mostly if I let myself become dehydrated. It really prompts me to drink lots of Water earlier in the day. Good luck!
lawanda jessica 0 Posted November 8, 2007 So if you drink too close to bedtime it causes reflux?
sac2kmw 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I get this, if i drink just befor i go to bed. it's not acid as such, just reflux
lawanda jessica 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I get this, if i drink just befor i go to bed. it's not acid as such, just reflux No wonder I have been coughing. I drink tea or sometimes I have a glass of wine before bed. I lay down maybe 15 minutes later. Could this be the reason? So it's reflux not acid. I didn't have this problem pre-fill. Dibaby 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Make sure you don't eat or drink anything at least 2 hours before your bedtime and see if its still happening. This cures it for me
sac2kmw 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I found it was just from where there is no gravity to help, I can wake up really badley coughing or to the point i am gagging, I usually end up bieng sick then it would stop and i would be straight back to sleep

trystelle 3 Posted November 9, 2007 I have found that wine is the worst for this. If I drink wine now I have to do it before my last meal! Hope youn feel better!
