I'm 2 and a half almost 3 weeks post op and I feel like I can eat all the eggs chicken ect no problem. Of course I focus on chewing it a lot so it's all mushed up but I've never had a problem with my liquids or my food. If I fee totally fine, that means everything is okay right?

Nope. You just had major surgery. 80% of your stomach is now gone. You are going to have reduced sensation, numbness, and just generally weird feelings. eggs are a maybe, but I cannot believe your surgeon cleared you for chicken already.

I don't know what diet your surgeon prescribed, but follow it to the letter. Do not deviate from it, do not "listen to your body" or "test" your new tummy. You risk infection, a bleed, or far more serious, death.

That's scary that you are released for regular food. Most everyone is still on full liquids at 3 weeks. You might want to confirm the schedule with your surgeon. Putting regular food in your stomach this early increases the risk of a leak.

Day 17, is the beginning of soft foods for my surgeons rules & lots of others are allowed what you have. Different surgeons have different rules. We're allowed eggs and chicken. Chew chew chew. If he said it's fine , you need to do what he said. Everyone thinks their surgeon is the right one, so asking those types of questions brings out a lot of opinions , but there's not always a right or wrong .

I was on full liquids 2 weeks, puree 2 weeks, and soft meat (i.e. moist chicken) week 5. Just depending on the surgeons orders. Some people have IMO sadistic doctors who say liquids for a whole month before puree and others are cleared to eat puree day 3. I have the same concern as you, I believe though. I wonder how I can drink without nausea or eat without pain etc. Why are others having so many issues? Idk. But I do get full fast and it lasts a long time so maybe we are lucky? Listen to your doctor. Everyone's different.

I'm a week post op, and was sent home from the hospital on full purées. I'm still mostly just drinking Water and Protein Drinks, with the occasional yogurt or applesauce; but that's really mostly because I'm nervous about trying anything else. I have my first follow up next week, at which they will probably move me to soft foods, so it sounds like your diet progression might be similar to mine.

As others have said, every doctor is different. The most important thing in these early stages I think is to just follow the plan you were given. It sounds like you must have a good surgeon since you are feeling good and healing quickly!

Im also allowed chicken at week 2, they call it the soft food stage. We dont do puree, but have to chew it to that consistency.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
