Disney world after RNY or and WLS

Recommended Posts

In September my fiancé and I will be celebrating our ten year anniversary and have booked a trip to Disney World!

By September I will be 5 months post op, I'm not quite sure what my meal requirements/ limitations will be or what to expect when it comes to taking bites of food/ brining my own bari friendly food to save money and agony so I wanted to see if anyone has been there post op?

Thanks

I went to the Bahamas 4 months after my gastric Bypass and really was not able to eat much at all. For Breakfast I had yogurt. lunch was a problem, I had a couple bites of a salad. dinner was an issue, I would take a bite of a piece of filet and it tasted so good, I would take another 3 bites, and then had to leave to through up. I was thankful after the first 2 days that I brought me Protein Bars. But everyone is different. I am 5 months at this point and still can only a limited amount of different foods and very small amounts of food that my stomach will tolerate.

I just came back from disney and I'm 6 months postop. I didn't eat anything at the park. I took my own or we went back to the hotel for me to eat.

I was just down in Anaheim last weekend for a Comic-Convention (across the street from the park, but unfortunately not going in because it was cost prohibitive to pay to go just for the evening), and I"m super familiar with Disneyland (lifelong Disney Geek and former Annual Passholder). I'm also just about 4 months post-op from Gastric Bypass right now.

food I think will be fine. I got away with basically a scrambled egg from Denny's in the morning, and a little bit of Jerky during the day when I needed Protein for lunch. The bigger worry I think will be getting your liquids in. I brought a water bottle with me the first day of the convention and almost lost it 5-6 times just from forgetting I had it with me and leaving it in places.

If I had it to do over again, and when I head for my trip back to Disneyland in September, I plan on taking one of those CamelBak backpacks so that I can make sure I'm getting in my 64 ozs. I think walking around all day in Florida heat might have a tendency to get you dehydrated. We can go longer without food than Water.

Thank you so much! You have brought up some really great points! The last time I went to Disney land it was November in cali so I didn't really worry about water so thank you for the reminder! I'm gonna look into the camelbak right now!! [emoji16]

I am almost at 6 months. I eat out a lot. I don't tolerate Protein Shakes or bars so I had to learn to eat real food. So I just order Entrees with eggs, grilled chicken, grilled or steamed shrimp, filet mignon, pulled chicken (no BBQ sauce), fish, burger wrapped in lettuce (or without the roll), meatballs, hummus and veggies, etc. I try to choose sides that I can eat - like sauteed zucchini, tomatoes, green Beans, Caeser or greek salad (no dressing), etc. I am able to eat about 3 - 4 oz of Protein and a few bites of veggies. Sometimes hubby and I share a meal. For lunch you could have a turkey or roast beef sandwich without the bread.

I went to couple Disney parks when I was 2 1/2 months out.I was able to eat salad, grilled chicken, shrimp.I did take some Protein Shakes to make sure I got my Protein in.At Hotel had scrambled eggs and brought some of my greek yogurt. Most hotels have yogurt high in sugar.Just make sure you drink all day or you will dehydrate quickly.I know we hate to buy Water but dehydrating is a lot worst..Most hotel have fridge and Microwaves so I would get some food I could eat and keep in fridge.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
