Elizabethtash 3 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) I have slowly worked my way up to about 40oz of Water a day and have been using the GENEPRO Protein. Am still thirsty I real want a tall glass of skin milk or ice Water. Anybody else is this normal ? Edited April 9, 2017 by Elizabethtash
DaleCruse 756 Posted April 9, 2017 I wouldn't drink skin milk but I can't imagine that one glass of skim milk or ice Water is going to hurt you. Start with small sips. If you tolerate it well, have more. If you don't, don't. Good luck!
SashaF 2 Posted April 9, 2017 I'm in the same boat. 6 days post op and very thirsty. My cousin's mexican surgeon recommended Powerade zero to quinch the thirst after his surgery. I'm trying that today. Apparently Water makes you more thirsty but the electrolytes in powerade kills it. Not sure about the theory behind it, but we shall see. 1 Suze58 reacted to this

FatCat•2•SkinnyKitty 12 Posted April 11, 2017 The thirst is probably due to ketosis. If you consume less than 20 carbs for three days or so you'll go into ketosis. Increased thirst and decreased hunger are both side effects.
MarinaGirl 609 Posted April 11, 2017 Drinking Water does not make you more thirsty, that's a sign of dehydration. Trust thirst, drink water.
blizair09 3,250 Posted April 11, 2017 If you're thirsty, drink Water. Aim for 64 oz or more per day, even if you have to sip constantly to get there. Good luck!
