Vivian Whitehead 2 Posted May 7, 2017 My surgery is scheduled for Monday, May 8. Tomorrow is clear liquid day. I am so ready to get this done. A little nervous but excited. First visit was in November but I am down 22 pounds since my first visit. 2 Sweet as peaches and BubbleSam reacted to this

Walking is the best thing ever and I can't stress that enough for everyone just getting ready to have their surgery. Also I stayed in the recliner chair and never went back to the bed while I was in the hospital. Make yourself get up and moving. The mouth swabs to wet your mouth and chapstick saved me too. When getting up and sitting down to walk use a pillow to press to your stomach. It also helps when walking. I'm trying to get my Protein in and my liquid but it's tough. It's crazy how full you feel after just a little. I hope everyone does well and congrats deciding to take this journey on! I was super nervous the night before my surgery but I am so proud of myself and can't wait to see my progress! I am so appreciative that you are sharing your experience. I like these ideas will definitely bring a pillow for May 15 my surgery date. 1 Vivian Whitehead reacted to this
fatchocobomom 43 Posted May 7, 2017 I was sleeved the 2nd. It all went down without a hitch. I was doing pretty good until yesterday, and then my anti-nausea patch ran out and my nausea increased a bit. The pills just don't seem as effective to me. Still really sore, I look like I was in a knife fight and then got slammed in the gut with a truth. Bruises everywhere. I didn't touch the oxycodone though, after my mother's struggles with opiates, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Relied on simple tylenol and it's mostly been enough to get me through the day. Protein is going fine, easily getting 60+ protein (Thanks Unjury.) but struggling to get 64oz down. My tummy seems to only like sugar free popsicles, lol. The thing that I was not prepared for was the exhaustion. I'm taking naps during the days, and relying on my husband for everything. Not used to that at all (but thankfully he's awesome, and tells me to take my time healing, even when he's working and taking care of all 3 kids.) Moving is really hard, but I'm doing my best. I'm gonna try to move even more tomorrow. Make sure my husband keeps the treadmill clear so I can jump on for a few minutes a few times during the day. Good luck to everyone going in this week, and hope everyone who got sleeved the same week as me are doing well! I'm still in shock that I went through with it... 3 Vivian Whitehead, Lizzle and tigger6506 reacted to this

longway2go 31 Posted May 7, 2017 Do you dilute the Isopure? It is such a large bottle. So happy you are doing so well.No I should right? I kind of power thru it. I'm use to drinking it prior to surgery but after surgery, oh lawwd it's like fighting me every ounce. I read some people put crystal light in it? Does anyone know if we can drink our Water with crystal light? I mean that would help me out tremendously!! 1 SleeveMe88 reacted to this

I have not really had any pain, just sore at the incision sites. Had some pressure when I would drink my Premier Protein shakes, so I replaced them with some vegan powder mixed with almond milk and now it is better. Trying to get all of the liquid and Protein is still a struggle. 2 longway2go and SleeveMe88 reacted to this

Sleeved on Monday and sleeping a LOT. Not sure how people go back to work in a week--I don't feel like I'll be ready on Monday to go without naps! With the swelling/tightness/heartburn, I'm only getting in two Premier Proteins + 50 oz Propel water/day, so only 320 calories. Excited to start getting in MORE for energy but it sure is a challenge. Getting easier every day, though, and best part is this has been basically pain-free. Just some discomfort. Struggled with nausea the first day and they almost kept me longer, but it's gotten better. 3 days 'til puree, which I think will help me a lot. 1 Melena68 reacted to this

I am glad to hear that Gas x chewables are helping. I am on day 4 of the liquid diet and it has been hard. I am so ready for the surgery and hearing your story gives me hope. Thank you. I am so happy I had the surgery. I am down 24 pounds now. The surgeon just said nausea is a very common side effect from this surgery. It lasted for 2 days and then went away with the help of the medications. It is amazing at what small quantities of food fill you up now. Good luck with your surgery. 1 LinzLou22 reacted to this
