Fibromyalgia and Sleeve

Recommended Posts

I've just completed all the pre-clearance requirements for the insurance. My Dr stated that fibromyalgia does not always improve. My goal is to lose weight. Get off my medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, c-pap, and move easier.

I have fibromyalgia and was sleeved on June 14, 2017. However, it's to early to tell. I can tell you I'm not having extra pain from surgery that I didn't already have before, which is one things I was worried about. I'm hoping with some weight dropping off it will be less painful to move and exercise. My rheumatologist says the best thing for fibromyalgia is sleep and exercise. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Thanks Sharon, my sleep scores on my ResMed cpap machine have been low due to interrupted sleep due to pain. I pushed myself to clean out a 10x20 storage unit the last 2 months. Things to get done before my surgery. I'm waiting for my insurance to ok my surgery after completing all the requirements.

I know it's not easy, but you'll defiantly want to get some of that organizing and cleaning out the way before. My whole process to get sleeved went pretty fast now that I think about it. My first consult with the surgeon was April 13th and my surgery was June 14th. My authorization from the insurance company only took 1day.

I was sleeved 2/9/17 and I have noticed a big improvement in pain and fatigue. I'm down 50 pounds.

So good to hear!

My vsg is on 9/17, and I have chronic pain, chronic fatigue (for 30 years) and fibromyalgia. I've been helped greatly by using Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) which is now the first line treatment at Stanford for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue patients. It can make a huge difference for some people. But, you can't take opiates with it because it's an opiate antagonist. Lots of info on lowdosenaltrexone.org

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
