I'm bringing a crochet project just in case I get bored.

Fitbit fully charged, iphone and charger, Pre-op book, the lung tool, change of clothes, shoes, I can't think of anything else.

I highly recommend a small pillow to hold against you when you gag or cough or anything. I didn't use much of anything else because I was in pain so I slept and walked and went back to sleep. I brought:

  • charger
  • phone
  • small pillow
  • deoderant
  • pj pants and large shirt
  • 2 dresses (moomoos)
  • toothbrush and tooth paste
  • baby powder

that was all i brought and i didnt do anything but brush my teeth

Hi, these are all from past posts

Your own pillow, slippers, pj bottoms, phone and charger, chapstick, gas-x, moisturizer, baby wipes for before your shower, something to read, CPAC machine, comfortable clothes for ride home,

I'm bringing my own organic chicken broth because the hospitals broth is a bouillon cube which made me gag after my gallbladder operation:)

The hospital I'm at is super restrictive so what I'm gonna do is bring two bags: first, a duffle bag full of condoms, sex toys, and whiskey shot packets so when they look in the second bag, stuff I actually want to bring, they'll be like.. well this isn't half as bad. I think it would satisfy the intake nurses of their desire to have power over someone to be able to tell me no to the duffle bag, but not fight with me afterwards about the phone, tablet, pillow, anti-fart strips, etc.

Deodorant, no-rinse facewash (micellar Water in my case), biotene dry mouth spray, phone and charger, ipad, movies/tv shows you don't have to pay attention to downloaded, non-slip slippers... one thing I didn't bring but realized I should have was a heating pad. Nurses brought me warmed blankets for my belly, but in that situation you're at the mercy of how busy they are. having heat and weight on my belly helped soooo much! honestly, that's it.

I go in on Monday! Yikes.

I'm bringing chapstick, a phone charger, ear buds, a half-crocheted blanket I'm working on, and my computer because I have to grade papers on Wednesday.

Chapstick Chapstick Chapstick! Out of everything I brought with me...that was the one thing I constantly used (and I never use Chapstick). Even though you will have iv giving you fluids, your lips, will be super dry.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
