avremy 34 Posted March 31, 2017 Hi allIm currently 3 months post op and am feeling great , ive lost 66pounds and feel amazing. Obviusly weight loss has slowed down and i need to work harder to see results.I cant stand the taste of milk and have been forcing down protien shakes for ages, recently ive been slacking off and i think its time to find an alternative. I try to have as much protien as i can during the day i.e. yogurt for Breakfast, chicken and meat for lunch - supperWhat shake alternatives are there? Are the protien bars they sell at the gym ok for me? 1 arsiny reacted to this
bossportsgal 136 Posted March 31, 2017 I love the Power Crunch Protein Bars. Taste like Cookies. I also switch up my meals to not have the same thing over and over. You need to shock metabolism. I think. I switch up Protein like adding eggs, fish, etc. Thanks Nancy

mylighthouse 782 Posted March 31, 2017 Congratulations on your weight loss! As far as a shake alternative, have you tried an unflavored Protein Powder? I have used Unjury and Isopure, and they are really a great alternative to shakes, because you can mix them into drinks and/or foods such as yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. The powder mixes well into Crystal Light, Powerade Zero, or, my favorite, Decaf iced tea. I like the fact that it will help me get my Protein up to 90-100 grams a day, which has been the magic number for me dropping the weight over the last few weeks. You might want to give it a try. 1 Mary Aane reacted to this
YeaMe 246 Posted March 31, 2017 I can totally relate. I'm only 6 weeks out and totally tired of ALL my Protein choices at this point. I'm a Premier Protein fan, though it is a Liquid Protein shake, but premade. I can't find a Protein Powder I can tolerate - flavored or unflavored. I just bought some Quest Bars and they are really good. Most are around 160-190 calories (which is really low for a protein bar), 4 net carbs and 21 grams of protein. I eat 1/2 before I go to the gym at lunch and 1/2 for my afternoon snack. They are a little pricey at $2.15, but I need them to keep my protein levels up. So from the Protein Shake and Protein Bar, I get in 50 carbs.
