April 2017 sleevers?

Recommended Posts

So my surgery is set for April 19th. I can't believe how fast my 6 mo. requirements went by! I start my 2 week diet on April 5th and pre op meeting on 4/10. Any other April sleevers in the house?

I started my pre-op diet on 4/02, surgery is on 4/12/17. One week from today! My surgeon requires 10 days of pre-op diet only. Hope that is enough to shrink my liver to the right size and minimize risk to myself?

We are getting sleeved on the same day! Nice to meet you, sleeve buddy! :-) I'm having some difficulty dealing with the pre-op diet, as I have to cook for others in my family. Cravings are strong, today is day 4 for me! How are you doing?

Will you guys accept a March Sleever? 3/9/17 was surgery! With help of wife I'm doing great! Had 1 month check up yesterday at Cleve. Clinic. All went well. Down 20# from surgery day and 76# since we started in August of '16. I'm excited!

My surgery is also in the 12th. It will be here before you know it! The first few days of the pre-op diet I like to refer to as my "detox". It was bad with headaches which caused me to vomit and so hungry . But after a few days I felt human again and it has gotten easier. Good luck everybody!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
