Good luck! I feel like I should be nervous but I'm not yet. I'm excited! Leaving my house soon to head to the hospital.

I was sleeved on the 12th. First night was a little rough. I kept thinking I was going to throw up but it was all burps. Let me just say that it hurt! Right now I am working on a sugar free popsicle, I got it off the stick so it's in chunks. I excited for this journey.

I had mine done on the 3rd! You're absolutely right about how fast the time flies by.

My stomach is still sore a little bit. I'm trying to get my fluids down. Everyday is a little bit better. I had my gall bladder out in 2006, so this is familiar with my stomach. That took me about 7 days to feel normal again.

I was sleeved 4/11! First two days were really bad with nausea but by day three I was able to get some fluids down. Just remember the trick to getting fluids to stay down is sip wait 30 s to 1 min and sip again. Trust me if you sip too fast or too much it will either hurt your pouch or come back up and you don't want that pain

Good luck with your surgery and journey!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
