sgc 538 Posted March 31, 2017 I lost 100 pounds about 9 years before my surgery and had my gallbladder taken out. It's fairly common for bariatric patients to have to have their gallbladder taken out. It can happen to anyone who loses a significant amount of weight. Sleeveforme2017 144 Posted March 31, 2017 My MD prescribed Actigall for me after surgery. I have to take it for about 9 months to help prevent gallbladder problems
Diva T 62 Posted March 31, 2017 Had mine taken out the same day as my sleeve surgery. Had a small stone and doctor said "You've got symptoms so out it comes!" I takes longer to heal and I've had a few more issues as far as eating and bowel habits but am glad I had it removed. I'd have pain and nausea "attacks" sometimes before removal. Good luck!
