Does anyone else have this problem, everything I eat seems to get stuck in my chest or that is what it feels like. I am two weeks post op and it just seems like everything I eat gets stuck. I also had a hiatal hernia repair along with the sleeve. Anybody else??

I had the hernia repair too and I'm still a little tender... I'm only 10 days post op and was just cleared to eat puree foods. What types of things are you eating?

I was told you could use the strips. But i had no need foe them since i chose to stay oit of bed the majority of the time and walk it off. But you can try them it wont hurt tp do so. Im just starting on my pureed on saturday :( and im so ready! I would love to hear some tips of pureed foods that have been good options!!

Hi I had the hernia repair as well. I am 3 months out and am not able to drink or eat much. I keep heartburn and vomit often. They have given me so many kinds of meds to help. Nothing seems to help.

I'm 6 months out and had both done, I had the same problem and it didn't matter how slow I ate. It just sat there with pressure! It gets better!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
