mkemp942 2 Posted March 29, 2017 Did anyone use avocado as a food source during the soft foods stage? Is it a good choice?
CocoNina 210 Posted March 29, 2017 I did, I made it into guacamole. Basically, mashed it, squeeze some lime juice, salt, & pepper on top. On my book from my nutritionist, it says I should only eat 1/4 of an avocado a day because of the (healthy) fat in them.Height: 5'0"Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.Surgery date: 2/13/17Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).Current weight: 178.8 lbsMy profile picture is not me. OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted March 30, 2017 It's a good choice, just weigh it. The amount you get is going to vary a lot by the size of avocado, eye balling the measurement won't work. 1 mkemp942 reacted to this
dg371 50 Posted March 30, 2017 I used it mixed in a little with my pureed chicken or turkey salad.< br> 2 mkemp942 and evesta reacted to this

hermione53 157 Posted April 15, 2017 I have a friend who feeds avocado to her baby so it seems like it's a good soft food. He loves it. I also love it and love it mixed with finely chopped hard boiled eggs for green egg salad. It may be too early for you to eat eggs bc some people can't tolerate them. I had no problems with them cooked in any form, though.
Pescador 1,374 Posted April 18, 2017 Avocado has healthy fat and is a great treat, even four years after being sleeved.
SassyScienceNerd 213 Posted April 22, 2017 It's an excellent choice for the soft food stage.

Layma 30 Posted May 1, 2017 The fat content shocked my new belly and had me rolling in pain for an hour and half. I didn't used to like avocados but I love it now. I have to measure the amount I eat so I don't land myself in trouble but it's very very filling and delicious.
