Avocado soft food

Recommended Posts

I did, I made it into guacamole. Basically, mashed it, squeeze some lime juice, salt, & pepper on top. On my book from my nutritionist, it says I should only eat 1/4 of an avocado a day because of the (healthy) fat in them.

Height: 5'0"

Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.

Surgery date: 2/13/17

Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).

Current weight: 178.8 lbs

My profile picture is not me. It's my "FITspiration" body.

It's a good choice, just weigh it. The amount you get is going to vary a lot by the size of avocado, eye balling the measurement won't work.

I have a friend who feeds avocado to her baby so it seems like it's a good soft food. He loves it. I also love it and love it mixed with finely chopped hard boiled eggs for green egg salad. It may be too early for you to eat eggs bc some people can't tolerate them. I had no problems with them cooked in any form, though.

Avocado has healthy fat and is a great treat, even four years after being sleeved.

It's an excellent choice for the soft food stage.

The fat content shocked my new belly and had me rolling in pain for an hour and half.

I didn't used to like avocados but I love it now. I have to measure the amount I eat so I don't land myself in trouble but it's very very filling and delicious.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
