Unless your insurance has something very specific to weight loss/gain, then no. I haven't lost any either. Nor did I gain any weight. So it's all good. Your pre-op diet you'll be sure to lose a lot of Water though/ some fat. So I wouldn't worry. 😊

I was told not to gain or loose more than 15 lbs throughout the whole 6 months or else insurance wouldn't approve, you should be fine. If anything it shows a supervised diet not working therefore surgery is needed

During my six months of diet visits, I was told not to worry too much about losing weight but to focus on educating myself on the right foods to eat and how my diet would significantly change after the surgery. That being said, I ended up gaining 8 pounds and lost only 4 of them at my last weigh-in. :( I was pretty stressed and worried that my insurance would deny me but, thankfully, my surgery has been approved!! So if you have only maintained your weight, I'm sure you'll be in good shape!

I'm meeting with the surgeon on April 4 to find out my surgery date and am so excited!

Wishing you well on your journey! 2017 is gonna be our year!! :)

I am scared about this as well.
My first weigh in after the consultation, I was down 11 pounds.
Next weigh in I had put 6 pounds back on.
I am scared about how insurance will handle it.
The rep that handles insurance and financing said not to worry about it.
However, I am still stressed out about it.

Nope, you'll be fine. My weight at my first consultation and my weight months later at my pre-op appointment were within 3 lbs of eachother and approved without hassle.

Usually losing a specific number is your surgeon's requirements, not insurance's. Not always the case, just generally.

I feel the same fear. I started my 6 months pre op program in November. I gained 7 pounds from November to February. Then lost 5 pounds by my march appt. I think I'm up again for April. Honestly, if I could lose weight and maintain it, I wouldn't be looking to have WLS [emoji53]

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
